Do you remember about this time last year all that stuff about Kathy Griffin and her statement on how God had nothing to do with her winning an award. I'm sure she worked hard to earn her award and perhaps she doesn't see the role that God plays in her life - that is sad. That is her relationship with God. Who knows? I don't really follow the life of movie/TV stars and comedians so I don't know much more about that.
It brings up our issues with our own Higher Power. When do we recognize Him in our life? Or better yet, when do we acknowledge His existence? Is it when things are going badly - "how could you?" Or is it when things go well - "thanks!" Or perhaps both? Do we actively participate in our faith? Or do we pretend and rush to it only when we feel the need?
I like to talk to Him all day, every day (no I don't talk out loud) - I just acknowledge He's there for me. I pray at night with my kids to get them used to talking to Him. But I don't make it to church often enough. Well okay - not anywhere near often enough. Is it necessary? I don't know. Some of you are cussing at me right now and others are wondering right along with me. Oh well, how do you get along with your Higher Power?
